Stanhope is a suburb of Ashford in Kent, South East England. The estate was built in the 1960’s on the southern edge of Ashford.
As of the 2001 UK census, the Stanhope electoral ward had a population of 3,276.
Stanhope has recently undergone a physical regeneration as part of a 30-year multi million PFI (Private Finance Initiative) project. This regeneration has seen the refurbishment of 323 Ashford Borough Council owned properties and seven blocks of flats replaced with 442 high quality new homes. There is also a new shopping parade and Moat, the housing provider member of the Chrysalis consortium, is committed to provide housing management at Stanhope until 2037 from the Stanhope Centre, their neighbourhood office that is also home to the Stanhope Library.
